      What kind of issues is your bike having just out of curiosity? Anthony will fix you up no problem.

    • @brucarp80
      @brucarp80 3 дня назад

      The tune itself was never really done. The throttle is the same. Engine braking is the same. The only thing that I can tell was done is that RPMs were raised and that the pops and bangs were added. After the tune, I added an IRC quickshifter and auto blipper. Well apparently you can’t have the Moore mafia pops and bangs tune and have an auto blipper. The bike will throw you forward and almost off the bike if you don’t use the clutch on downshifts. After spending months trying to figure out why the bike does that on downshifts, Chris put out a video showing the same the happening on the ZX-10 with the auto blipper. If I never seen that video, I’d never have figured out why my bike would shift like that. I contacted Chris and he confirmed that I’d have to send the ECU back to be relashed. That’d be another $125 on top of the $100 for the pops and bangs to be added originally. After hearing about Anthony at Bauce, I decided it’s best to cut my losses and let Anthony fix my bike.

    Nice review! How would you rate the waterproofness of the Limitless sled deck and how that compares to the Marlon? I know that Marlon released a gasket kit that sounds like it improves the waterproofness but not entirely. I store things in my bed year round under a tonneau cover and wondering how well the deck would work to replace that. Thank you!

    • @JT2JZ
      @JT2JZ 5 дней назад

      I’ve never had a deck that seals perfectly. If you are comparing it to your tonneau cover you might be disappointed. I find it’s pretty good for average water / rain. In the winter driving down the back roads it does get a lot of the snow dust in the box still.

    Just a few days ago I ran across a victory motorcycle that had a aftermarket S&S complete engine on it. So that told me that even if you’re low on options with victory brand parts to maintain and repair the bike, the aftermarket definitely has you covered. So even though the motorcycle is not produced anymore, it’s still a very popular & common motorcycle that parts will surely be plentiful for many years to come.

    issue 1: hard starting. this is usually caused by a faulty pick up. basically easy to start, not a feature of the crossplane crankshaft. issue 2: the level indicator in the oil sump does not work correctly, but I have heard that the size of the oil return hole in the cylinder head is not sufficient. this should lead to insufficient lubrication, since the pressure in the crankcase is probably too high due to the blowby gas, and therefore the oil level will be lower at high revs, but I have not experienced this. it's a sports bike. sport bikes usually don't have a fuel level indicator. if it lights up, you refuel. there is no difference in performance between the modes, you only change the throttle opening speed with std, A, B mode. it always jumps back to std mode so that there are no surprises due to the aggressiveness of A mode. the hydraulic clutch would again add weight and require more maintenance and be more expensive. it would be of almost no benefit. the clutch should not slip even when hot. a typical phenomenon is the breaking of the clutch hub. at the same rpm, the v4 engines are also clumsy up to 3000 rpm, it has nothing to do with the balance of the crankshaft. the crossplane engine actually has the same ignition sequence as the vfr, and the v4 behaves very similarly.

I've just got my Victory now in 2024, seems like my steel-horse was made to develop tons and tons of torque, and man! does she like to rev!? I've already hit the speed limiter, which kicks on at about 115 mph on 6th gear, nevertheless I'm getting the feeling my sled likes to cruise at 5th gear most of the time, unless you have a long stretch of asphalt without too much traffic in front of you, then you engage the overdrive. She can cruise at 5th gear hitting 110 mph pulling really hard and raising hell with that triple displacement v-twin sound and staying there for miles. Cheers! 🍻🍻😎😎

    Here's a thing. I have an option to get a 2013 RSV4 Factory for a great price. My only issue is that after owning Japanese bikes all my life the cost of maintenance and parts are so much higher that it makes me think twice. The bike in question is in perfect with no indications that it is going to need a major service but still... I do want it real bad though.

    • @JT2JZ
      @JT2JZ 20 дней назад

      I completely understand. I had the same mindset when I bought this RSV4. My advice would be stick to one with low kms and as close to mint condition as you can find. Personally I wouldn’t be comfortable owning one with over 30,000kms for that exact reason. My RSV4 currently has 15,500kms. Knock on wood but my RSV4 has been flawless so far and I have genuinely enjoyed the past few years with it. Great value and performance for the price. Honestly my 2012 R1 was the most problematic bike I have ever owned ( one of my favourite to ride though ) it started seeing issues around that 25000km mark. Any bike can have issues. Keep on top of maintenance and you should be ok. I think the internet blows the reliability issues out of proportion a little bit on Italian bikes.

    The g32sst is a very good turbo. The issue was the intial design. Then guys would hop them up and spin the bearings out of them. Not allowing your turbo to cool properly after use will destroy any turbo. Using bad oil, or using fords recommended oil change intervals will destroy any turbo. Guys overfuel these trucks like crazy, the cp4.2 can handle up to about 600hp before is starts really loosing its longevity. They cavitate with these horrendous tunes, and combine that with sulfer less diesel and youve got planned obsolescence. Ive owned and worked on idk how many cars trucks tractors semis ect... and the 6.7l powerstroke for a light duty truck is an excellent purchase. Dont over tune them, delete them, and treat them like they were ment to be, with respect. Anything outside of that was a problem with the inital assembly, which is extremely rare.

      No I lost my keys and without a red master key the dealer can not cut any spare keys for you. Only option at the time was full ignition replacement with a new red master key

    Hearing the comparison of the different engine characteristics was interesting. The issue you describe with initial throttle opening off to on, isn't that something that can be tuned out by a good tuner? I hope so, I'm considering an '07/08 R1 which is a flat crank but afaik it's also one of the earlier ride by wire/electronic throttles. Coming from a late model GSXR750 (totaled) I'm hoping the '07/08 R1 will be similar riding experience and the ride by wire will be more of a benefit without having any negative impacts, not sure if tuning will smooth out the throttle enough to make it worth while, gaining auto blip would be cool but not at the expense of throttle feel. It's just so hard to know without riding, so trying to do some research atm. If all else fails I'll be happy with another 750. Maybe I should check out the '06 as well.

      I did get my Crossplane tuned by bauce racing. Throttle input was buttery smooth after so don’t worry to much!

      That would be the Cadillac of comfort. Might not handle well enough to crush the back roads with how big they are.

    I had this debate in my head back in 2014. I went with the 2005 and I have had an absolute blast with it. I love that bike. I have always wondered what it would have been like if I had bought a 09

    • @lioncross1849

      What pulled me toward the 05 was that it was a throttle cable and that it was slightly more roomy looking as I am a couple inches over 6 foot

      The 2005 probably is a more rounded / reliable bike. I really enjoy the riding experience of my 2012 even though it is more problematic.

    Does yours naturally run hot around 210-220 Fahrenheit when riding.? i picked one up in yellow flame theme, ive replaced a couple of things including 360 amps Lithium ion.

    • @JT2JZ

      Definitely gets up to 220 during slow speed in town riding. Mine usually drops below 210 when riding a bit faster. Keep in mind I don’t live in a very hot area though. Our nice summer days are usually 80F

      @@JT2JZ yeah its 79F today, i hit 225F on the cluster, my previous bike S1000rr never hit those temperatures. could coolant change or coolant hose change fix the problem you think ?

      @JT2JZ 27 дней назад

      @KelsS1k honestly it’s probably normal for these bikes. They do run a bit hotter than traditional flat plane engines. I doubt you will have any heat related issues. Mine gets up to 235f or so if idling in traffic on a really hot day.

      @KelsS1k ya they do run hot. After I got an ECU flash and tuned the fans to come on sooner it helped a lot. My bike ended up being a weak starter it’s self. Check out my starter replacement video. I took it apart and all the internal components were jet black / crispy. My bike was 100% after that new starter.
